There is a reason this one landed in Diamond in the Rough.

This is a genuine Black Diamond StormLine Stretch Rain Shell, originally built as lightweight technical outerwear for hiking, climbing, travel and unpredictable weather.

The StormLine features Black Diamond’s BD.dry™ waterproof/breathable/windproof technology, stretch construction, ventilation, a hood and a packable lightweight design. Clean examples originally retailed around $180. 

And then there’s ours.

The good news? The jacket itself is still beautiful. The soft aqua-blue color is fantastic, the branding looks great, and the overall piece has plenty of life left.

The catch?

There are two damaged areas in the shell fabric, shown clearly in the photos. They appear almost melted or abraded. Because this damage affects technical shell material, we are not going to pretend it doesn’t matter — we cannot guarantee that the jacket remains fully waterproof.

That is exactly why it is priced at only $24.

Use it as a lightweight outdoor layer, windbreaker, hiking shell, travel jacket, dog-walking jacket, work jacket or everyday throw-on piece.

Not perfect.

This jacket has two areas of damage to the shell fabric that appear consistent with melting, heat exposure or abrasion. Please review the close-up photographs carefully.

The remainder of the jacket presents beautifully; however, because the damaged areas involve the technical outer shell, Dusk to Diamond cannot guarantee waterproof performance.

The price reflects this condition
